Game 7 of the early season series with the hated Yankees.

This is something special. Today's game was a 2-0 whitewash. Pedro is spectacular,
Manny hits a tremendous 2 run homer for the only runs of the game, and the bullpen is
perfect. They have something like 24 consecutive scoreless innings. Foulke has been
almost perfect all year, Timlin, Embree, and Williamson have been just as good.

Sox are 12 and 6. I'm trying not to get too giddy about this. What's unusual is that
this team is winning by pitching. Terrific starters, and the bullpen has been
outstanding. The only game they lost this week was when Francona left in Schilling too
long. The Yankees are reeling, but you know that won't last too long. We only can wish
to keep playing well and bury the Yankees before they have a chance to wake up.
