The Red Sox finish another dismal disappointing season 13 1/2 games out of first place and nowhere near the wild card. They were the epitome of a dysfunctional family. Williams fought with Duquette, Everett fought with everyone. The injuries killed them. They fired Williams but Kerrigan was no match for the crybabies who all wanted more playing time but didn't perform when they had it.
It's clean house time. New owners. Maybe they'll dump Duquette. Many underperforming players won't be back.
Meanwhile the playoffs have started a bit late ('cause of 9/11). The Yankees will try again to pull it out against the upstart A's and the amazing 116 win Mariners. In the NL Schilling and Johnson will be tough to beat for Arizona.
